Sofu Teshigahara founded the Sogetsu School of Ikebana in 1927 with the aim of transforming this ancient Japanese floral art into a modern art form. He stressed the philosophy that ikebana can be created anytime, anywhere, by anyone, using available materials. Today, Sogetsu ikebana continues to evolve as new creative expressions are developed. In this exhibition, you can view diverse ikebana created by Sogetsu Seattle Branch members, and ikebana demonstrations presented by Branch teachers. Try
