Nightmare Forest
is Kentucky's longest-running outdoor haunted attraction, family-owned and operated since 1992 and returning for its 35th season in 2026. It sits on Otter Creek Park Road in Brandenburg, about 35 minutes southwest of downtown Louisville. One ticket covers 20 attractions.
Guests walk the Nightmare Forest trail, Trail of Terror and Demented Hills, then take in Hawthorne's Circus Bizarre, a live sideshow and oddities museum. Themed scare zones include The Nun, Krystal Lake, Haddon Field, Garnettsville Ghost Town, Wolf Cave and Big Top Terror.
Most guests spend the better part of an hour on their feet. The experience is entirely outdoors and no-touch, and is recommended for ages 13 and up. Parking is free and on site. General Admission is $30, Speed Pass is $45 and VIP Skip the Line is $65, all sold in advance online.
The 2026 season runs 15 nights only: Fridays and Saturdays from September 19 through October 31, plus two bonus Sundays on October 18 and October 25. Gates open at 7:00 PM. Because it is an outdoor walking trail, guests should dress for the weather and wear shoes they can walk a mile in.
