The Walter Munk Foundation for the Oceans will celebrate our 5 th Annual Ocean AwarenessDay, honoring Walter Munks iconic 80-year legacy of daring exploration and discovery throughscientific research, education, and ocean conservation with a focus on scuba diving.

We willcoordinate with Scripps Institution of Oceanography for the American Academy of UnderwaterSciences Symposium, as Walter was one of the first scientific divers and the Founder of theScripps Center for Marine Archeology. Neda Iranpour will be back as our distinguished Emcee.The event will include our traditional Ocean Alley and Kumeyaay Way with interactive,educational, ocean related exhibits.

It promises to be a memorable event with dignitaries, artand music, face painters, food trucks, and lots of fun for everyone! Location: Half of the Park starts at the intersection of Camino Del Oro and Vallecitos. Restrooms are adjacent to the Educational Plaza containing THE MAP of the Grand Canyons of La Jolla and the site of the Bronze Sculpture, "From the HEIGHTS of Mt. Soledad to the DEPTHS of the Grand Canyons of La Jolla.
