Experience Overview
Join Lan Su’s horticulture team for a workshop highlighting the noblest of flowers—the sweet osmanthus—through traditional Chinese floral art. Osmanthus is associated with nobility because gui 桂 (osmanthus) is a homophone with gui 貴 (nobility).
It is a recurring floral motif in art throughout Chinese history closely tied with the Chinese scholar’s ascent into the highly educated class.
This workshop will highlight the innate beauty of osmanthus from branches harvested from our own collection. You will walk away with a beautiful arrangement created with tools, techniques, and aesthetics of huayi.
